About the role
As an Engineering Manager on the Trucking Autonomy team, you’ll lead a world-class group of engineers focused on building and deploying scalable perception algorithms for commercial trucking. Your team will develop across all sensor modalities: camera, lidar, and radar with a strong focus on long-range object detection and tracking. You’ll help evolve our perception architecture toward a robust L4 end-to-end autonomy stack, setting technical direction and team goals that align with our safety, performance, and deployment milestones.
At Applied Intuition, you will:
Grow and manage a team of world class engineers with the goal of building and deploying scalable perception algorithms for commercial trucking scenarios
Prioritize development across all sensor modalities, including camera, lidar and radar, with emphasis on long-range object detection and tracking
Evolve the architecture to achieve the final goal of an L4 end-to-end stack
Set team goals and roadmap in alignment with safety, performance, and deployment requirements
Partner with ML, simulation, and data engineering teams to accelerate performance and validation cycles
Drive hiring, mentoring, and growth for a high-performing, mission-driven team
We’re looking for someone who has:
5+ years of engineering management experience leading high-performing perception or ML teams
Strong technical background in machine learning, with the ability to translate research into production-grade solutions and guide architectural decisions
Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally with other teams like infra, data, and behavior
Track record of shipping perception systems into production at scale, ideally within L2+/L4 autonomy programs (e.g., automotive, trucking, or robotics)
Prior experience in transitioning a perception stack from R&D to commercial deployment
