About the role
We are looking for an Engineering Manager for Software Quality Operations, who will lead two complementary functions, Triage Engineering (handling failure analysis, reproduction, feedback loops) and Scenario Engineering (scenario library creation, coverage definition, simulation test development), and ensure they work collaboratively, efficiently, and at scale. You’ll help shape the technical vision, scale a high-performing team, and drive execution with cross-functional stakeholders in Product, Engineering, and Sales.
At Applied Intuition, you will:
Grow and manage a high-performing team of Triage Engineers and Scenario Engineers
Own triage operations: establish workflows for ingesting data, prioritizing failures, reproducing issues, assigning to appropriate owners, and closing the loop with development teams
Own scenario engineering operations: define a scenario library covering relevant operating design domains, define safety/comfort metrics, partner with product/engineering to drive scenario reuse, and ensure metrics & visualizations support decision-making
Build tooling, automation, dashboards and processes that enable scalable ops
Partner cross-functionally with Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Safety, Simulation, and Product teams - align on risk, coverage gaps, root-cause trends, and process improvements
Define and monitor key performance indicators for both functions
Influence road-map decisions: provide actionable feedback from triage findings and scenario coverage gaps into product/engineering strategy
Ensure team compliance with relevant safety/quality standards and best practices
We're looking for someone who has:
Bachelor's or higher degree in Engineering such as Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Robotics highly preferred; or at least 4 years of equivalent knowledge and work experience
2+ years of experience leading or managing a team that will make an impact on safety, reliability, and customer trust
2+ years of professional experience working on safety critical and complex systems such as Robotics, Autonomous Vehicles, Automotive, or Aerospace Technologies
Experience with software engineering concepts, including requirements analysis, source control, build processes, design reviews
Experience with Linux and scripting languages (E.g: Bash/Shell, Python)
Experience using issue tracking and configuration management tools (E.g: Atlassian Confluence, Jira, Bitbucket, Git)
Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and analytical and creative problem solving skills
Compensation at Applied Intuition for eligible roles includes base salary, equity, and benefits. Base salary is a single component of the total compensation package, which may also include equity in the form of options and/or restricted stock units, comprehensive health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance coverage, 401k retirement benefits with employer match, learning and wellness stipends, and paid time off. Note that benefits are subject to change and may vary based on jurisdiction of employment.
Applied Intuition pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum intended target base salary for new hire salaries for the position. The actual base salary offered to a successful candidate will additionally be influenced by a variety of factors including experience, credentials & certifications, educational attainment, skill level requirements, interview performance, and the level and scope of the position.
