About the role
As a HIL engineer on our onboard software team, you will be responsible for testing our Vehicle OS features to ensure the quality and reliability of the FW features. You will architect, design, and implement firmware validation procedures, equipment, tooling, and automation to efficiently test firmware components and subsystems. You will work closely with development and integration teams to explore and validate the performance capabilities of our hardware and firmware to ensure code quality is high. Your effort to create and equip automated validation infrastructures and coverage reporting will have a direct impact on the reliability, robustness, and value of our products. Your impact will help accelerate the development, quality and reliability of the Vehicle OS platform.
At Applied Intuition, you will:
Design advanced automated test suites for the Hardware/Processor/Software-in-the-loop (HIL/PIL/SIL)
Architect methods of integrating the automated test suites into development processes
Create reporting mechanisms for automated testing for firmware and hardware
Work alongside the development and integration teams to create automated regression tests
Assist in creating test plans and framework
Explore and innovate methods of testing the robustness and quality of the zonal firmware
Understand and deconstruct complicated software systems and devise strategies to test these systems
Create and execute test plans designed to expose weakness or faults in components
Report the coverage of the automated tests and the metrics that the code is being evaluated against
Cohesively work with developers to optimize the acceleration of component validation with the use of metric driven data
We're looking for someone who has:
5+ years of relevant experience in embedded design/validation
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
Proficiency in Python, and C or C++
Expertise testing devices and debugging hardware (oscilloscope, logic analyzer, DMM)
Desire to participate in improving code robustness and designing testing infrastructure
Nice to have:
Experience in electronic and system schematic design & capture (Altium Designer)
Experience with Docker, Linux
Experience designing or interfacing with test setups
Knowledge of source control (Git) and continuous integration (Jenkins)
Knowledge of EVs and testing hardware
Compensation at Applied Intuition for eligible roles includes base salary, equity, and benefits. Base salary is a single component of the total compensation package, which may also include equity in the form of options and/or restricted stock units, comprehensive health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance coverage, 401k retirement benefits with employer match, learning and wellness stipends, and paid time off. Note that benefits are subject to change and may vary based on jurisdiction of employment.
Applied Intuition pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum intended target base salary for new hire salaries for the position. The actual base salary offered to a successful candidate will additionally be influenced by a variety of factors including experience, credentials & certifications, educational attainment, skill level requirements, interview performance, and the level and scope of the position.
